I have always loved horses. My parents say that my first word was “neigh,”… they thought I was saying “no” all of the time so I am sure it was a little frustrating. I love working with horses more than anything and I spend as much time as possible at the barn. I am at the barn 6 days a week for hours, riding as many horses as I can and learning all that I can. My favorite part of spending so much time at the barn is getting to connect with the horses and learn their personalities. I also get to build a special connection with my horses at horse shows. I do all of my own work at the shows too; grooming, cleaning, picking stalls, feeding, ect. This has taught me a lot about hard work and how it pays off.
Currently, I am a junior at ICL Academy. I have a 3.9 GPA and I love the flexibility and the opportunity to do online school. Having a flexible schedule allows me to make my own schedules and spend as much time as I need at the barn working with my trainers and horses. My favorite subjects this year are A.P. U.S. Government and Performance Psychology.
At 6years old, I found Strang Ranch and was blessed to have met my trainer, Bridget Strang. At 8years old, I joined the United States Pony Club. Pony Club has taught me so much about caring for horses and being an organized and careful horsewoman.
I LOVE competing in equitation. I believe equitation is the foundation of being a good rider. I have been trained that “less is more” and when mistakes happen, it is rarely ever the horses fault. Soft, kind and patient are what I strive for.
Being with horses is my passion. My aspirations with my riding is to go to the Maclay Finals and all of the major equitation finals, and Devon. I want to be the best rider I can possibly be, and even more importantly, be the best horsewoman I can be.
I am BEYOND GRATEFUL that I have two amazing parents who always encourage me and I am so blessed to have had the honor of learning on so many amazing horses. Every single one has taught me so much and I truly can’t imagine my life without horses.
